Each of the three Dispatcher stations consists of four computer screens. One is dedicated to radio communications, two for Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and the fourth for general computer functions.
The radio screen provides full control of all public service radio channels used in the county and paging for each emergency service agency. The dispatcher can broadcast on each channel individully or simultaneously on two or more channels. There is also the capability to patch county channels to other channels in the surrounding local areas should it become necessary. Outside doors can be unlocked as well at a mouse click.
CAD and it's associated mapping screen provides an instant visual display of units assigned to calls and units available as well as a complete record of activities for each department since the installation of the system.
Housed in the climate controlled computer room are the networking, radio and control systems that make everything work.
The conference room can handle 10-15 people and is equipped for audio conferencing. The LCD flat panel display can be used for training or presentations. This is the only formal conference room in the county and is already popular for meetings and seminars.
